Our Research
We participate in EU-funded R&I projects as partners for exploitation, AI methodology, ecosystem development and stakeholder engagement. We also provide support to consortia across Europe in project management and project coordination.
What We Bring to Every Consortium
When we join a project, we don't arrive with generic templates. We bring a methodology tested on our own spinoff journey, from university research to a market-ready AI platform, combined with a multidisciplinary team that has spent years inside research projects across manufacturing, ecology, transport, and public safety.
Our core contributions to EU projects:
Research Exploitation
We help consortia turn deliverables into deployable outcomes. Our exploitation planning is grounded in direct experience — we took our own product from fundamental research to TRL 7 and know exactly where most projects lose momentum between the lab and the market.
AI Development & Integration
We develop and deploy explainable AI solutions within project consortia, building on the same architecture behind eSARP. From scenario modelling and knowledge capture to MES integration and predictive analytics, we contribute working technology.
Dissemination & Communication
From scientific publications to stakeholder engagement strategies, we design dissemination activities that reach the right audiences at the right time to generate real uptake and visibility.
Project Management & Coordination
We bring structured, lean project management to complex multi-partner consortia. Our approach combines academic rigour with operational pragmatism — keeping projects on track, on budget, and aligned with evaluator expectations.
Capacity Building & Training
We develop and deliver training programmes that strengthen institutional readiness for EU-funded research — from proposal writing to ORRI integration to stakeholder engagement methodologies.
Ecosystem Development & Stakeholder Engagement
We design and facilitate multi-stakeholder processes that connect researchers, policymakers, industry, and civil society — building the collaborative infrastructure that EU R&I projects need but rarely invest in.
Our Project Portfolio
We work across programmes and domains — from smart manufacturing and green hydrogen to climate resilience and community safety. What connects every project is our focus on turning research into lasting impact.
eSARP
NPOO — Ministry of Science and Education
Development of an explainable AI expert system for autonomous business process management in manufacturing companies. eSARP uses a transformer-based architecture with Coach and CEO agents to generate, evaluate, and execute business decisions across seven core functions — production, procurement, logistics, sales, finance, marketing, and R&D.
IGNITE-LDR
i3 Interregional Innovation Investments (Strand 1)
Empowering less developed regions through smart manufacturing technology transfer. IGNITE-LDR drives adoption of AI, robotics, and circular manufacturing solutions in industrial SMEs across Europe — with €1.8M in open calls for third-party industrial experiments. The project builds on proven tools and platforms to scale up technology readiness from TRL 6/7 to TRL 8/9, bridging the gap between established innovation hubs and manufacturing SMEs in less developed regions.
NASCHA
i3 Interregional Innovation Investments (Strand 2a)
North Adriatic Smart Communities Hydrogen Accelerator. NASCHA pilots renewable hydrogen solutions across three territories — Croatia, Slovenia, and Friuli-Venezia Giulia (Italy) — through 3 Smart Communities of Practice, 2 cross-cutting pilots on hydrogen storage and retail distribution, and 1 feasibility study. The project accelerates the bankability and investor readiness of green hydrogen value chains in the North Adriatic ecosystem.
BTL-COP
Horizon Europe (Civil Security for Society)
Building Trust and Leadership to Challenge Glocal Aporophobic Crime in a Police Community of Practice. BTL-COP develops tools and methodologies to strengthen trust between police forces and marginalised communities across four European pilot cities: London, Madrid, Valencia, and Zagreb. The project deploys innovative solutions including the TING community engagement model, BondMate device, a Trust Measurement Framework, and an Intelligence Toolkit for evidence-based policing.
TWINSAFE
Horizon Europe (Widening Participation — Twinning)
Advancing Road Safety Through Twinning. TWINSAFE strengthens road safety research capabilities at the University of Zagreb’s Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences by fostering collaboration with two leading European institutions. The project integrates advanced data analytics, simulation, and end-user feedback to develop infrastructure recommendations based on the Safe System Approach — combining GIS-informed metrics with driver behaviour data to deliver actionable insights for safer rural roads.
BRIDGE
Pathways2Resilience (P2R) — EU Mission Adaptation to Climate Change
Blidinje Initiative for Green and Equitable Resilience. BRIDGE empowers the Blidinje Nature Park region — a highland ecosystem with high climate risk and low adaptive capacity — to develop a comprehensive climate resilience framework. The project delivers four integrated outputs: a Baseline Assessment, a Climate Change Adaptation Strategy, an Action Plan, and an Investment Plan with bankable projects designed to mobilise EU, national, and private finance for adaptation.
KEEP-GREEN
FUTURAL Open Call (Cascade Funding)
Weighting and Ranking Forestry Places According to Wildfire Occurrence Potential. KEEP-GREEN develops a fire prevention and early detection system for forest areas and Hutovo Blato Nature Park, integrating GIS, drone technology, IoT sensors, and Multi-Criteria Decision Making methodologies. The system creates dynamic risk maps and a digital twin for simulating fire scenarios — targeting ~90% detection accuracy and a scalable business model for fire-prone municipalities across Europe.
CORIB
REINFORCING Incubator (Cascade Funding — HORIZON-WIDERA-2022-ERA-01-40)
Collaborative Open Research and Innovation for the Balkans. CORIB promoted Open and Responsible Research and Innovation (ORRI) principles within the Croatian Quadruple Helix ecosystem. Key outputs include the ThinkORRI Workshop Thinking Tool for embedding ORRI in proposals, an ORRI Mentoring Program and Help Desk at the University of Zagreb’s CTT (continuing beyond the project), and a policy paper with recommendations for bridging ORRI gaps in Croatia.
SE4HuBIE
REINFORCING Incubator (Cascade Funding)
Stakeholder Engagement for Hutovo Blato Ecosystem. SE4HuBIE addressed the lack of stakeholder integration in the conservation of Hutovo Blato, a critical Mediterranean wetland. The project delivered citizen science workshops using iNaturalist, ecosystem storytelling circles with elders and fishermen to capture traditional ecological knowledge, and the “Hutovo Blato 2030 Vision” Policy Paper adopted by the Park’s management. The Hutovo Blato Stakeholder Hub was established as a permanent advisory body with 11 members, ensuring long-term governance integration.
